Romeo and Juliet - Minoto

Written by: zoz and irishenigma

zoz
Romeo and Juliet Sing-A-Long
to the tune of A Wonderful Guy, from South Pacific
Click here for a Sing-A-Long video

I expect everyone of my crowd to make fun
Of my proud protestations of faith in this game
And they’ll say I’m naïve as a babe to believe
That Minoto is real. No they’ll say that it’s lame.

Fearlessly I’ll face them and argue their doubts away,
Loudly I’ll sing about Tools for Cooking,
I’ll take my stance about Ponies who prance and say
Minoto is such a beautiful thing!
I’m not ashamed to reveal
How happy this game makes me feel

When the sailboat arrives at the dock and
The rope that Gulliver used is in hand
And I can choose the match that can be used
I know I've found a Minoto game

Penguins flying in planes with propellers
Bonfires burning along the roadway
Water that steams, oh it’s all like a dream
When I find a Minoto and play

Rope the Pony so Romeo hops on and goes
To the castle to get
(As the mouse flits around
And Thing bobs up and down)
His true love Juliet

When the blackmouth goosefish’s head lantern
Shines like a beacon so penguin can land
Take the propeller and create a fan
That will blow the football
To the net that is tall
And will catch the Mouse buzzing around

Dance Interlude (keep singing!)

When I'm down and confused and I'm feeling
Like I need something that's happy and gay
I know that I can always go and find
A Minoto to brighten my day

Spray (it drove recklessly) blows a ball up so we
Can make Gulliver’s shoes
Make a coin we can use
Like a driver that screws
To free Green Kitteh who

Eats the food of the thing that was bobbing
Knocking it down so the Powder pours out

Making a Sponge in a good condition
So the Pink
Arrow can

Show where fat
Girl should land

Where did two
People go?

Julia and
Romeo

Disappeared
In thin air

And live hap-
py somewhere

In this Land that is called Minotooooooooh!

FRENETIC WALKTHROUGH...A CAPELLA :)
Part 1

and so we open with:
*oh dear..oh no...which way do I go...which way do I go...who's on first...who cares...no, he is on third...then who is on second...I can't think ...what do I do...oh...oh...oh*

a pony who has obviously had too many double espressos at Starbucks is in the midst of a caffeine meltdown while the young boy is *hanging loose* in a comatose, zombie-like state....well...this is normal in MonotoVille but even here...someone needs to give this pony a handful of Valium, or give me the Valium! Okay...shall we see what the next scene brings...lol!

Well...somehow Gulliver escaped from the pages of his classic book and is standing in the *almost-docked* ship...touch his boat and magically it comes to port and ties itself up...don't you just love Minoto...lol! take the *rope that Gulliver used* and pick up the cooking tool before you continue on to find a fox that kicks a soccer ball...kicks a soccer ball...kicks a soccer...okay...*blame it on the pony*

speaking of the pony, take Gulliver's rope and finally get this poor frenzied animal harnassed...suddenly the boy comes to life, jumps on the pony and rides into another scene that only Minoto would think of...it seems you have arrived at a *sort of* castle and a young girl is peeking over the wall...a garbage can with a long neck and head is ... yes, you guessed it...performing the same action to distraction and, a spray can is wildly buzzing around the boy's head and it would appear that a mouse is at the controls.... *takes another shot of tequila* it helps...believe me.... before you leave this scene take the *cleaner that is left behind* and grab the match....
9/25/2010 6:47 PM

FRENETIC WALKTHROUGH
Part 2

hop into the scene with Gulliver and notice that even in Minotoland...spills exist and require clean-up, so....use the cleaner that was thrown away and what the....a blackmouth goosefish sporting the latest head gear...*the lantern of the head shines*...I don't even want to ask....well, I do but the answer will reveal itself soon enough...alright...onward!

just walk by the fox for now and notice that there is a plane hovering above a runway/highway...this must be the Minoto Harrier Jet...but I digress...light the match in the fire and then light the rest of the fire pits lining the runway; now, because this makes no sense at all we are going to do it...lol! place the goosefish to the left of the first fire pit and the hovering pilot is now able to land...but oops!!! one of the propellers just fell off...workmanship just isn't what it used to be...take the propeller and, before you leave the pilot...place the cooking tool over the fire.

now let us see Mr. Fox...take that propeller and place it in the object the soccer ball was bouncing off of and...a fan! make the fox kick the ball again and this time it ricochets into the *sign* and turns into a net to catch insects...lol! *and my computer doubles for an ATM...haha!* alright...back to the business at hand.

remember that irritating buzzing can...let's use the net to capture the can, thus eliminating one more frenetic, frantic object!!! now take the can to Gulliver and attach it on the end of the rope on the dock...a puff of *something* comes out and Gulliver then proceeds to stomp on what turns out to be a coin...*another shot of tequila...really starting to make sense now*... take this newly stomped coin and insert it into the machine *fox view* and out pops an egg with a small green cat...whoohooo!!! I think the cat should help the garbage can eat the *mystery* food on its plate...wow...garbage can just tipped over and out spills a powder containing various ingredients...ummmmm...nope, I do not want to know!

take the *icky* powder to the cooking tool and pour it in...*a sponge in a just good condition grilled up*....what?! *hello...my name is Alice and I just fell down a funny looking hole...* I am in Minoto...I am in Minoto...okay, take the grilled sponge and place it in front of the castle wall...the large, conspicuous pink arrow tells you where...lol!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!! Juliet jumps over wall on sponge and crushes poor boring Romeo and both disappear into large hole where apparently they are living happily *somewhere*.... *takes a double shot of tequila*.... And this, as they say, is the end!

Gazzyboy Classroom Escape - Explanation

Written by: small-tool

Shadowfied
*Sigh*
The games Gazzyboy "purchases" from "FlashGamesMart" is just so idiotic.
There's just SO many things here that doesn't make sense..
Here's a few random..

- Why would someone "hide" a "Chalk Piece" inside a "Duster"?
- Why would someone open a "Duster" with a Pencil?
- Why put glue ON TOP of the "Duster" when putting it back together?
- After taking the item inside the box that was locked with a code ("OPEN") the text-box changes to "0000" like it was a number combination-lock.

Everytime I play these games I just facepalm at pretty much everything. I feel sorry for the person who develops the games, and even more for "Gazzyboy" (whoever he is) who buys the games..

small-tool
Shadowfield,

- Back in the old days pupils used to steal the chalk pieces from their teachers. This went on for years till one clever teacher discovered a chalk piece can be hidden perfectly in a duster. Since that day it's very common in a lot of countries to put chalk pieces in dusters.

- Nowadays schools all have metal detectors so you can't smuggle knifes into a classroom. So the only way to open a duster is with a sharp pencil.

- If you don't glue the top back on the duster there's a risk your hand slides off while dusting the blackboard. Your nails could break or worse; your nails would make that awfull screeching sound going over the blackboard.

- A text code box changing into a number box code after opening was invented during the second world war. It was a kind of last defence to secret agents opening a code box. The idea behind it was to confuse the one who opened the box so much that they instantly went mad. Thinking; 'huh, I cracked this code with letters didn't I? How can this be' Sometimes some spies were even found dead besides the box with a crazy smile on their face.

Guliver's Travels - Minoto

Written by: zoz

SingAlong Minoto
To the tune of "My Way" as sung by Frank Sinatra
@http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E2hYDIFDIU

First Round
And now Minoto’s here

And so we all are so excited

My friends this much is clear

We play this game to be delighted

We take the opener
That’s near the Fox Cop on the jail floor
Don’t look at Naked King!
(He’ll make your eyes sore)

The monster wears his heart
Upon his sleeve, though he’s impounded
Use opener to free the little bee –
Flutters are sounded

Go back to the first scene
And click the switch to change the light’s glow
The bee makes Fox Cop run!
This is Minoto.

Look! The scared Fox cop left his key!
Arrested king is now free to go
Avert your eyes, don’t be surprised
When you see Santa has arrived
Then reindeer comes; they fly away
This is Minoto

Fox Cop is in pursuit
Of Santa and his trusty reindeer
Wood choppers are so cute
But we must go, we cannot stay here

We’ll take the Carry sled
Where luggage can be put and carried
And use it by the shed
Extraordinary!

Take the 50 gallon drums away
And liberate the strong machine

It really makes the chopper’s day
And we can set Gulliver free
Then give the nail to Frankensteen
‘Cause it’s Minoto

Yes, it's Minoto

Second Round
The monster’s heart is warm
Not only that, it is a plant mind,
On which the soul is borne
It gives the tree the strength of his kind

To knock away the man
Who has been chopping on him all day
And now we have an ax
We’ll do this our way

Cut rope to free the boat
So Gulliver can sail the high seas
In travels where he floats
In favourite adventures which please

Game players everywhere
But we’re not done with this game, oh no
There’s more, much more than this
To this Minoto

Yes, there's more to this than just one end
There is a second method, too
One in which Santa plays a part
After the monster gives his heart
So we must go, because you know
This is Minoto

Go back and play the game
Up to the point where tree awakens
Then take the ax back where
Dwarf was forsaken

(We’ve played and clicked all things
We never tire, even when losing
The games that each week brings
Because they all are so amusing)

Next use the jail key to free the guy
Give him the ax, which he’ll make fly
To the cop’s car to cut the wheels
And free the naked king who feels
That he is Santa who was caught
But now he is free!

This is Minoto

Naked King - Minoto

Written by: small-tool

In case zoz really wants a day off;
Here's a substitute (but only once, it's very hard to do this)
It's on the music of Dancing Queen from Abba.
But zoz, please feel free to do another (better) one if you want to

Nicking the Naked King

Ooh you go right, look around, taking the cans off the ground.
Ooh you go right, take that comb, combing the dog at home.

Yellow tap and the other pink,
Place the cans in the orange sink.
Give the crab the cans, used it, getting in the air,
You grab the nut right there.
Any birdie could crush that nut,
Chicks to feed, now that nut is cut.
With a click the strange driver, openening the box.
You're in the box with knobs,
And with your money dots...

You take the painting quick, lasers gone, only button trick,
Elephant, do your thing, take decolorant, oh yeah.
Doggy's hair, you can make, not to be seen but not fake.,
Oooh, driver thing, use it cool, screwing the ladder tool.

Use a ladder, you turn 'em on,
Click that entry and then you're done.
Looking out for an item, empty one will do.
Giving the mouse that string,
And when you give the king...

He is the naked king, old and mean, almost see his thing.
Naked king, feel the beat from the cop his swing, oh yeah.
You got beat, You did crime, sitting the rest of your time.
Oooh, see that king, see his thing, nicking the naked king.

Nicking the naked king.

North Wind and Sun - Minoto

Written by: zoz

North Wind and Sun Through
To the tune of "Norwegian Wood" by the Beatles

(first verse)

I once played a game,
Or should I say
That game played me.
Minoto has one
Method of fun:
North Wind and Sun.
I picked up a Pediform Stick in a scene of despair,
So I traveled on and encountered a Shark in the air.
I took a CD
From a Blue Bird,
Shooting with glee
A little Baby
Who looks like Mom
From Miami.
The Shark liked the music so much that he started to dance,
The blade of his dorsal fin fell to the ground and by chance,
It fit like a glove
On the stick of
Satan who loves
To cut ropes that hold
Little Pink Buns.
North Wind and Sun.

(second verse)

I took the Strong Rope
Because I hoped
It would make smoke.
And lickety-split
I cut a bit
Of straw and lit
The straw strong and dry then ignited and freed Paper Doll.
The Doll that was hanging and was not pedating at all.
Then I made a stick,
And I was quick,
Monkey was slick.
He did not tremble
As the Gongtats
Downed the Cymbal.
The Cymbal saved Baby from arrows shot by the Blue Bird
The Pick that resulted had sharp angle (or so I’ve heard)
The pick cracked the ice
Which the Cloud thought
Was really nice.
The Ice (feel it cold)
Made the cloud bold
It puffed some cold

(third verse)

Air onto the Sun
Who then arose
& warmed everyone
The good deed was done.
Method of One.
Isn’t it fun?
There was an ice world at the season of summer, but then
A warm climate came for cooperation of North Wind.
Now animals run
And they have fun,
Warmed by the Sun.
Minoto has tons
Of good clean fun;
North Wind and Sun.

Friend's Room Escape

Written by: small-tool and Full

True, the game is very short and easy and we might call it stupid but i think we must not forget that maybe it´s made by a very young person?
Me myself i adore escape games and because of me so does my 7 year old son (poor child) His dream( and mine, lol) is to make a escape game himself, so there might be a posibility that this game is made by somebody like him?

If so, congratulations Mitarashidango!

If not, well... stupid game.

SHAME-ON-YOU-THROUGH
Once upon a time in a very small town somewhere in Japan lived a little girl called Mitarashidango. Her parents were very poor so she couldn't go to school and had to work in the deep dark mines 12 hours a day. But she was very bright and when she came home she studied hard all night. She only slept 2 hours, then ate some raw bamboo and went back to the mines.
But what nobody knew was she always took something home from the mines. Sometimes a screw and the other day a piece of wire. After some years of hard studie and smuggling things from the mines she could build her own computer and wireless internet connection.
By the time see was 7 she had seen everything on the internet and discovered she really liked the EG24 site the best. To honour that site she decided to make her first escape game and called it "Friends Room", because the people there were her only friends.
On the second of september she proudly released her game and on the morning of the third she commited suicide because her only friends told her it was stupid. All that she left was a little note and on that note was; Go right-take key-use key on door-go right-open blue door-conglats.

Wow Small-tool , what a sad sad story :-(

The good thing though, now she commited suicide, is that she will never bother us again with her games, no?
9/02/2010 12:14 PM

small-tool
Well Full, I'm not sure about that. I think she will come back as a ghost and haunt us with some games so full of bugs that you wish you could play a combined 123bee/gazzy all day long. And worse; it will be a game you can't turn off; something like that movie The Ring, or some other creepy Japanese manga/horror thing.
9/02/2010 12:19 PM

Please Small-tool, you´re scaring the hell out of me :-(

Dear Mitarashidango; if you read this ( assuming you still haven´t killed yourself) i must say that the game you made is one of the best Escape games i have ever played at EG24, it´s very amusing, difficult and pleasant to play. Nice graphics too. Please make more of these for us, at least twice a week if you can.
But if you had decided to leave this world already, and you are a ghost now, please don´t get any ideas from Small-tool regarding the combined 123bee/gazzy. That was just a joke from him.
Keep the good games coming!

Kamennokennjya Escape

Written by: small-tool

WALKTHROOUGH
- Keep clicking the white arrow till all the blue and green text is gone.

LOTS OF BOTTLES SCENE
- Go right

TOP LEFT; GREEN & RED TEXT BAR SCENE
- Click the text on the bottom right of the screen to zoom in and take the SCISSORS.
- Use the scissors on the green & red text bar on the top left to take the CROWBAR out of the envelope?
- Use the crowbar on the text under the green & red text bar to take the TWEEZERS.
- Go right 2x.

DOOR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN SCENE
- Use the crowbar on the black text above the grey text on the bottom middle to get the KNIFE.
- Go right.

LOTS OF BOTTLES SCENE
- Use the knife on the shorter text on the top right to get the PURPLE CIRCLE PAPER.
- Go right.

TOP LEFT; GREEN & RED TEXT BAR SCENE
- First use the scissors and then the tweezers on the text on the middle of the screen to get the BLACK CIRCLE PAPER.
- Go right.

DOOR ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN SCENE
- Use the knife on the text in the middle of the screen (to the right of the drawers) to get a LONG KNIFE/SCISSORS THING.
- Use the long knife scissors thing on the the text to the top right of that text in the middle of the screen (above the grey/black pump handle thing) to get the RED CIRCLE PAPER.
- Click the text on the door and you're out.
- CONGLATULATIONS.

But maybe there are more endings because while writing this walkthrough I clicked on the door without having the long knife/scissors thing and the red circle paper and I was out too and also with conglatulations.
Anyway, since we have to wait for Xenon or Trisana to translate all the text here is an alternative 'made up' storyline:

An evil Lab-assisitent locked you up in the lab because you found out his plans for world domination. You have to escape, but before that you have to find his secret cruel plans he wrote down in 3 mysterious cirlce codes.

- You know that somewhere around those bottles is a part of the plan, but you also know you can't take them yet so you go right.
- You remembered you hid a pair of scissors in some text under the drawers so you take them.
- With those scissors you open the envelope (that's always on the top left of the screen) and the magic crowbar that fits in an enevelope unfolds.
- Suddenly you realize that a long time ago you stacked some tweezers in the wall under the envelope, so you use the crowbar to get them.
- You go two times right to see the big cupboard where you hid the knife in the bottom part so the evil one couldn't kill you. Use the crowbar to get it.
- Now back to the bottles. You look around and suddenly you see on the right side under the bottles the text 'part of the evil plan' and you decide to use your knife there because there might be a part of the evil plan. And bingo, you found the purple part.
- Back at the green/red text bar place you see some text under the drawer. It says first use your scissors here and then your tweezers. You do so and... Yes the black part of the plan.
- Going right you see the little cabinet next to the drawers and you remember you hid some more sharp things there to protect yourself from the evil one. With your knife you open the cabinet and you take the long cutting things.
- Well that's something real handy because with that thing you can reach the higher text above the pump thing. You can't read the text but you think it says; 'last part of the plan that you will never get because you're too short'. 'Haha', you think, 'who's not tall must be smart or must have a long tool'. And now that you have a long tool you don't have to be smart. Just use it and there it is; the last part of the plan.
- For a moment you think; 'it's a trick, maybe there are more parts of the plan', but you feel tired and can't be bothered anymore. You've done enough to save the world and out you go.

EGL Piano Room Escape

Written by: mgkanda

Thanks to @Edgar for another great walkthrough! I thought I'd add a little just to help get around some of the glitches.

BUG-THROUGH:

1) Refer to above walkthrough until you have both drumsticks.
2) Pull the one on the right in inventory to the one on the left. See that they won't stick together.
3) Restart the game.
4) Repeat steps 1,2, and 3 as necessary until they stick and refer to the WT above to continue until you get the match.
5) The match won't light. Repeat step 3.
6) After repeating step 3 several times, realize that you have restarted for the sole purpose of lighting the match now and forgot steps 1 & 2 and your drumsticks don't work.
7) Bang your head against your desk, table, or the nearest wall three times.
8) Repeat step 4.
9) Repeat step 5.
10) Repeat steps 6 and 7.
11) Repeat step 7.
12) Repeat step 7
13) Repeat 7
14) 7
15) 7
16) Click the little red X in the corner of the screen, have some Advil with a beer chaser as now you have a screaming headache and...OUT!

Great job, escapers! You did it! XD

Alibaba 40 Thieves - Minoto

Written by: small-tool, For zoz from all of us and zoz

small-tool
The most fun for me is reading the descriptions from Minoto.
Sometimes they are almost some kind of poem;

Scissors. It is sharp,
Hammer. It is strong.
Key. It is key,
Doll. It is a small size.

Safety helmet. It decouples,
Crowbar. It's construction tool.
Glue. The lid is blocked,
It is not possible to use.

Big coin. It is poriferous,
Small clothes. It's a little gorgeous,
100% juice that seems to be delicious.

Santa. It traveled and the Reindeer... It traveled with Santa,
Ali Baba took out the treasure from among the cave,
It borrowed the power of Santa and it distributed it to everyone in town

For Zoz from all of us
“ Zoz is always there”

At the tune of “love is in the air” by John Paul Young

Zoz is always there
when a Minoto comes out
Zoz is always there
and she makes us laughing loud

Now we don´t know if she really ment it
we don´t know, it came as a surprise
when she said that she maybe gives up now
writing "singalongs" always so nice

Zoz is always there
you name it , she has every song
Zoz is always there
and then Minoto can be done

We all think that you might need a break now
and come back maybe once in a while
because you are the one we believe in
you and Minoto you gives us a smile

(Chorus)
Zoz is always there
Zoz is always there
oh oh oh
oh oh oh

Zoz is always there
when a new Minoto comes out
Zoz is always there
and she makes us laughing loud

What we do know and we like to thank you
is that you give us a really good time
with your songs and your words and your talent
every Friday and always on time

Zoz is always there
every week she is around
Zoz is always there
where Minoto can be found

We all know that it sounds a bit foolish
but Minoto now won´t be the same
´cause your talent was one of the reasons
for all of us playing that game

(Repeat Chorus 4X)

I Couldn't Help Myself
here is a small thank you to you all and a small tribute to Minoto!

To the tune of Carole King's "You Just Call Out My Name"

When I’m down and troubled
And I need some loving care
And nothing, nothing is going right
I’ll close my eyes and think of you
And soon you’ll all be here
To brighten up even my darkest night

I’ll just call out your names
And you know wherever I am
All your kind words will be here again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All I have to do is call
And you'll be there
I've got great friends

Ain't it good to know Minoto is here
When some games can be so cold
They'll use you, give bad clues to you
And make you nuts if you let them
Oh, no but don't you let them

You just play Minoto
And you know wherever you go
Those Minotoans will greet you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And they'll be there
We've got great friends

Zoz, if you´re here: A Minoto "sing-along" at the tune of "Bohemian Raphsody" from Queen would be fanstastic. ( only if you do requests ofcourse )

Minotemian Rhapsody
for Full ;oD
@Full, maybe you or Ellie can post a link to a karaoke???

Is this Minoto?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in this Goose Gold
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look in the first scene and see
He’s just a poor hog (Poor hog)
He needs our sympathy
Because he digs a hole fast (not slow)
Little high, little low
Any way the wind blows
Doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just found some clay
Clay that has viscosity
There beside the orange tree
Mama, the game has just begun
And now the potter’s thrown a jar of clay
Mama, ooh
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I grill it up at high temperature
Carry it, carry it as if nothing really matters

Octopus come with me
It was playing in a tree
Now it’s swimming in the sea
Goodbye, wooden boat
You’ve got to go
Gotta leave the boat behind and take the ax
Mama, oooooooh (Good sharpness on that ax!)
I don't want to roam
Aimlessly in this land of Minoto

[Guitar Solo]

I take the ax and chop a little tree
Scaramouch, Golden Goose, will you do the Fandango
Little girl is juggling fish it’s very frightening me

(Oh, Minoto) Oh, Minoto (Oh, Minoto) Oh, Minoto, Oh, Minoto Figaro
Magnifico-o-o-o-o
Then we find Miami Mom, she’s juggling fish, too
And Uncle Combover joins the family
All bonded to the Goose eternally

Easy come, easy go, will you us go?
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go
Let them go
Bismillah! We will not let you go
Let them go
Bismillah! We will not let you go
Let them go (Will not let you go)
Let them go (Will not let you go) (Never, never, never, never)
Let them go, o, o, o, o
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
(Oh mama mia, mama mia) Mama Mia, let us go
Minoto’s making a strong bridge out of us three, us three, us three!
Soldier boy who was guard in a castle can run
To the place where the hog has been having his fun
Oh, baby, can't run me away, baby
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here

[Guitar Solo]
(Oooh yeah, Oooh yeah)

Foxy grills a kabob
Which the Panda eats
Skewer opens castle
Little princess leaves and is free

And so goes Minoto…

oh. my. god. zoz DID it. i'm at work and i had a burst of laugh, my colleagues are staring at me like i'm crazy! zoz, you're a genius. GENIUS!!!
20/8/10 20:49

Zoe
@Full - You would know, of course, that zoz would take your "joke" seriously. Look what fun you both caused! I love this - both the game and the comments/Songthrough. Gives joy to an otherwise drab Friday!!!!

I have been thinking lately of "retiring" from Minoto-Throughs, but I couldn't resist the challenge from @Full. If I made just one person smile, then I'm happy! Thanks for all of your kind words <3>
21/8/10 00:20

Meg
I know I'm very late commenting, but I love Minoto! Great game as always :) @zoz, you can never retire from Minoto-Throughs! Your sing-along walkthroughs are as good as the game itself! It wouldn't be the same without you! For the sake of all Minoto lovers, keep it up! :)
21/8/10 02:24

annaby
@zoz - we will all understand if you retire. I don't know how you do this every week AND keep making each one better than the last. I know I would feel pretty pressured by the expectations. So take a break at least. You deserve it. Thank you for all the smiles you've given us.
21/8/10 13:09

Zoe
zoz - I have mixed feelings about your retiring! I agree with both Meg and annaby! I believe you must feel pressure from us, too, and that must be taxing. However, the selfish side of me says "oh no - no more zoz-throughs? What are we going to do without them?" You have made many people do more than just smile! I laughed so hard as I sang along to your song-throughs and other things you've written! You are a very clever, talanted person!
21/8/10 13:18

DonnaLou
Zoz - if you're EVER going to retire from Minoto Songsthrough, this has to be your swan song (golden goose song??). We, being human-type people and all, simply cannot be satisfied with mere brilliance - we want more. Always. Thank you for making Minotos so much more than they even are! And Gongtats, forever!
21/8/10 16:50

Edgar
Finally able to play Minoto, but glad I saved it to have tasted it as long as I wanted, as many times as I could. @zoz... what to say? A short break maybe? Perhaps a very tiny one? Well, I wouldn't like you to retire from them for good. You're blessed and talented, and we all are very lucky to have you. I love you!
22/8/10 05:38

kitkatfox
ah zoz. It won't be the same without your fantastic songs, but we all can understand how it would overwhelm you to make them every week. How about just cutting down to one a month or so? if you do retire, be sure to sell your greatest hits CD ;)
22/8/10 06:12

MaryD
Ah @Zoz - another masterpiece! I actually sang along with it LOL. Mystified the rest of the office. (And horrified them too as I have no singing voice) I can see that the weight of expectation might be stressful - but please, please don't retire absolutely from sing-along-a-minoto - just the occasional one would be a huge favour to all us fans!

PRETEND WALKTHROUGH aka NONSENSICAL MUSINGS

Here you are...standing in a solitary room staring at a door that your amazing powers of observation conclude is the only way out of this little room cluttered with colorful digits; yes, okay...you didn't need that last shot of Petron but...feeling rather clever not to mention invicible...you tossed your head, inhaled that double shot the bartender thought would be hilarious to watch you drink, and finished your brazen display of alcoholic prowess with a lime....

OH THE PAIN...familiar feeling....too much to drink, don't know which end is up...all points doubtful at this juncture....*groan* All these numbers...screwdriver lying around maybe...*just need gin and ... oh, no...wait...must think functional now*...! *my tongue is growing fur....*

Through the tequila-induced haze I realize I am able to hone in on the cyan numbers to my left...maybe I know more than I think I know *what?*...upon closer inspection the number is *2258*...oh well who needs a screwdriver! Rushing to the door I zoom in on the keypad and type *2258*, then press the little button...oh the noise...why is it so loud? Furthermore...why am I still in this room....oh help! How did I get in here again????

Wait...shut the door *oops...wrong expression* but ...little pink arrow pointing that way....*that way=right* No time to waste so pressing the right-hand arrow on my convenient, handheld keyboard *amazing how these handy little items just *pop* up...ahem*...slowly, my eyes uncross and a lone, shiney object emerges ....YES!!! What yonder lies on cold, dank floor....hark, a key! How bizarre...my feet refuse to move any further but suddenly, I have the superb ability to stretch my arms half-way across the room and open the door....*you will never solve the door code*, they said; *you will need to know quantum physics* they said...blah blah blah...miscreants and heathens!I stumbled out of the door to a cacophony of wild hoots and howls...

I would get even but... *falls down on the ground* ...

Critical Escape - Almost Famous Through

Written by: zoz

Almost Famous Through

- Begin, as you always do, by clicking on everything that is conceivably click-able
- RRRRRTT! Put on the brakes HARD when you see KitKatFox on the computer screen. Whaa? Has ourbeloved kkf morphed into the ether where she exists inside this game? We've got to solve this!
- Look at all the numbers. Thousands of numbers. Zillions of numbers. But, we are intrepid gamers, and When A Problem Comes Along, We Must Whip It.
- OK, sometimes the way we Whip It is a little lame. For example, some may, oh, I don't know, go to the Comments and see if anyone else has come up with a code???
- Bless you @sales! The code for the second drawer is

SPOILER154231SPOILER

- Damn, it didn't work! Maybe we have to actually see the code before it works. Well, all right, if you want to be that way about it.
- Look at all the numbers you can find. Knit your brow as if deep in thought. Pause a moment to contemplate. Then go back to the second drawer and enter the code. Voila! It worked!
- So now we have a Blue Book with a lot of nonsense about a "Detective Fiction Code" and a bunch of (you guessed it!) meaningless numbers.
- Back to the Comments!
- Yay @annaby for

SPOILER21757SPOILER

opens bottom left cabinet." Way to go, @annaby!

- Hmmm, File 82. I wonder if this is anything like Area 51? Oh, well, have a look.
- O.M.G.! There in black and white is Me! Amongst all the greats, it's little ole' me! OK, not ALL the greats, there are quite a few missing. But who cares? There's ME!
- After an hour or so of staring at my name in lights, it's time to wander back to the Comments box (just to see if I can offer any help, mind you)
- And there again is @sales with "her name is Catherine Coulter". This actually turns out to be fairly meaningless, but I'm sure Catherine Coulter is happy for the publicity (and @sales is to be congratulated for the excellent detective work).
- And @TC says "and the code is the aphabet numbered backwards". Ok @TC, if you say so (what on earth is TC talking about?)
@TC also advises us to "Get computer password from file number 17 in cupboard 2 - use hint from note on wall for the code for the cupboard door".
- Whatever. For now, I'll just go gaze at my name in a book. On the web. At a site hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people visit every day!
- Oh, right, the game. Back to the game.
- Now let's all work on the "birthdays +112" hint.
- OK, keep working.
- Work harder, @everyone, I'm not getting any younger here!
[Aside: now it seems we've got a couple of whiners in @loz xxx and @SwissMiss. Waaa, waaa, waaa. Get over it! Some of us have fame while others can only aspire to fame, see? Don't take it hard, it's just the way of the world]
- Almost forgot about the game there for a minute! I'll get behind if I don't keep up with my cheati, erm, monitoring of comments.
19/8/10 02:44

- OK, there's a lot of banter back and forth about codes and such (BO-ring) and eventually it's possible to chea, erm, pro- gress to the point where everyone is almost (but not quite) out.
- I'll spare you the boring details (just a lot of code solving and mental calesthenics and such, with hardly anything about ME ), but here's how to move along (thanks to @TC, @SwissMiss, @Peke, and others):

Enter the 112 + Birthdays code in cupboard 2. It is not any combination of birthdays from File 82 (which, btw, mentions ME), but instead it is the number 112 followed by a birthday.

SPOILER1122092009SPOILER

Now you have File 17, which contains the pw for KitKatFox on the computer. (OK, it's not ME)

SPOILERESCAPERSPOILER

This takes you to Power System, which requires another pw. And here's where @SwissMiss really shines: "dialed 543 (power) on the phone and got "out of office 627542" on the display". So enter that code (but only after you have seen the page on the desk with the power code and dialed 543, etc.) and get four more folders, including one labeled "Connection". Oh, I can do that one myself!!! Look at the sheet on the wall and find the code next to Connection and enter it in the computer.

SPOILER14SPOILER

- Now you see a screen with "Restart" and "Off/On" buttons at the bottom. But which to choose? Hah! The joke's on you, they are both meaningless! All those codes we had to solve to get here? Meaningless! Although you probably can't leave the room without having gotten to this point, but I have to ask, "Why?"

- Anyway, now is the time when we all got tired and wandered away one by one, leaving @Peke to get us all out by finding that "Last door code was something like 2427272525272724 or something." It wasn't just "something like" that number, @Peke, it was That Number!!!
You got us all out!

Ah, well. in the immortal words of @annaby, "pfft - fame isn't what it's cracked up to be!

Three Bears - Minoto

Written by: small-tool and zoz

small-tool
nokra is asking for more.
Well here is one more;

TRYING-TO-BE-FUNNY-BUT-MISERABLY-FAILING-SO-BETTER-WAIT-FOR-ZOZ-WALKTHROUGH

In the opening scene we see a silly spoiled brat sitting in the house of the three bears. A PACKAGE is on the floor, let's take it RIGHT away.
In the next scene; An empty bedroom and a TEST TUBE on the floor, let's take it RIGHT away.
Followed by a scene with a matchstick girl, an energizer bunny and a SHELL on the ground, let's take it RIGHT away.
Then the last scene (no more money for more sceneries); A stuck critter on an island and a PENCIL SHARPENER and a SHELL on the ground, let's take it. Let's turn on the tap and then fill the test tube so it's a TEST TUBE WITH WATER, but the critter is LEFT there.
Let's open that freezer and freeze the water in our tube so it's a STICK OF ICE. The energizer bunny is LEFT there and the matchstick girl is LEFT there too.
The STICK OF ICE goes into the PENCIL SHARPENER to make POWDER OF ICE that we feed to the spoiled brat so she becomes hyper and runs away. And that's our chance to take the GAS CYLINDER. That was the RIGHT thing to do, RIGHT ? yes.
The energizer bunny makes a lot of fuzz but gets nothing done, so we use the GAS on the GRASS. That works and now we can take the SCISSORS and finally open that PACKAGE to get a BELL. Meanwhile the bunny has LEFT and the spoiled brat fell asleep on the bed. Let's wake her just for fun. So hang the BELL on the stand and ring it. Well, that created a lot of activity but in the end taking the THIRD SHELL is all that's LEFT to do.
The wall looks like it can use some SHELLS so why not hang them there and maybe, just maybe, a mouse will come out of the floor if we click the crack in that floor. And yes it does, but who cares about that mouse because there is also every escapers dream object; a SCREWDRIVER to take. That's far more important, RIGHT ? RIGHT !
Now that we have a SCREWDRIVER taking away the WHEEL from the wagon of that matchstick girl seems the RIGHT thing to do.
But it's just a wheel, let's throw it in the water and poke it once. Well it moves that's all. Let's poke that pink one once as well. Ok it moves too, so what, that's no fun. Let's poke that critter and yes finally some action. It runs to the beach so we can catch that CRITTER. But now it seems there's nothing LEFT to do here anymore. No nothing LEFT to do here.
Let's see if the CRITTER get's eaten by the snake when we give it to her. Well, that was unexpected. The snake is scared, the spoiled brat goes through to the chimney and then... strangely enough the bears help her back on her feet while that juvenile delinquent broke into their house, ate all their food, slept in their beds and did who knows what criminal things more.
Well, we knew it before, it only could end like this, because there is always only one method end.

MinotOZ

Somewhere over the rainbow
I will go,
To a land that I heard of
The land of Minoto.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll play a game online
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.

Where troubles melt like lemon drops
And Three Bears pause for photo-ops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Test tubes freeze.
And Miami Mom Blesses You
Whenever you sneeze.

Frozen water from test tube
Can be laid
Into the sharpener so
Ice Cream can then be made

I'll pick up sea-shells one - two - three
And put them on the wall where the
Girl's waiting

I'll put the ice cream in her cup
And watch her as she eats it up
And starts somnambulating

Wake the blue mouse from sleeping
So he can
Grab the pink Screwdriver
and place it into our hand

Then a plethora of events unfolds
Herpestidae aka mongooses
Show us they're bold

The mongoose kills the Freudian Snake
And that's about all that it takes
The Girl goes

Up the chimney and then she falls
To earth where she's greeted by all
Her Bear Amigos

Somewhere over Minoto
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over Minoto.
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Around Minoto
Why, oh why can't I?

apologies to Harold Arlen (music) and Yip Harburg (lyrics) and also to all the munchkins and the Scarecrow and the TinMan and the Cowardly Lion and, of course, Dorothy and Toto, too!

Aladdin and the Magic Lamp

Written by: zoz

Ladeez and Gentlemen, Welcome to
Minoto’s Got Talent!!!

“First, let’s meet the judges –
On the left we have Mr. Panda!”
S’up dawg? Call me Pandy, man
“OOOOkaaay! Next up is everybody’s favorite: Miami Mom!”
Hello, hello. I just want to say that was a really good performance, and…
“Um, @Miami Mom, no one has performed yet.”
Oh, ok. Nevermind.
“And last, but not least [the crowd boos], it’s Uncle Combover!”
[Uncle Combover gives the crowd a Queen Mum wave – elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist]

“We have a packed show so let’s get right to the talent!
First up is Aladdin with the Snakes!”
[Aladdin Sane by David Bowie plays in the background:

Who will love Aladdin Sane
Uh hu hu uh hu hu, you’ll make it…

camera goes back to MC]
“I understand that performance was a bit premature as all of the props aren’t available yet, so we’ll come back to Aladdin at the end of the show. I’ll just take this melting candy someone left onstage.
Moving right along, help me welcome, Mr. Rabbit!”
[a hopping rabbit comes onstage to the cheers of the crowd. In the background, At the Hop by Sha Na Na plays:

Well, you can rock it you can roll it
You can slop and you can stroll it at the hop…]

“Thank you Mr. Rabbit! Judges?”
Pandy: Yo, dude! That was hot!
Miami Mom: I just want to say you look so cute tonight! You did kind of look like you had to go the bathroom, though (tee hee).
Uncle Combover: Well. That was perfectly adequate. However, I’ve seen performances of similar quality at Bunny Mitzvahs

[the crowd boos; Uncle Combover smiles.]
“After the break, Magic Mouse!” [the MC picks up a spool of thread someone left onstage]

commercial break

“And we’re back! Here’s Magic Mouse!”
[the camera cuts to Magic Mouse at a sewing machine, with the spool of thread, as he sews a beautiful carpet. In the background, “Magic Carpet Ride” by Steppenwolf plays:

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine

On a cloud of sound I drift in the night

Any place it goes is right

Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here]

“Well @judges, what do you think?”
Pandy: Yo, dude! That was hot!
Miami Mom: that was just beautiful! It was almost like you were using thread to weave something magical! Like there was a mystic force, or something!

“Um, Miami, that’s what Magic Mouse did. He wove a Magic Carpet”
Miami Mom: Oh, ok. Nevermind!
Uncle Combover: I just have to say that was the best performance so far tonight. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean it was good

[the crowd boos, as we cut to commercial, but not before the MC steps across the carpet to pick up a hammer someone has left onstage]

[commercial break]
30/7/10 23:19

“And we’re back! Everyone put your hands together for Fluttering Uncle Schnozz!”
[we see an old man with a huge nose using leaves to flutter in the air above what looks like a bed of nails. The crowd gasps, “Ooooh!” But, cue music - Hammer Time by M C Hammer:

You can’t touch this!
You can’t touch this!
You can’t touch this!
You can’t touch this!
You can’t touch this!
Break it down
Stop, Hammer time

The old man grabs the hammer and pounds down the nails, and then floats harmlessly to the ground as the crowd cheers, “Raaaahhh!”]

“Let’s hear it for Uncle Schnozz, Fluttering no more!”
[the MC stoops to pick up the wooden footwear known as Geta that Uncle Schnozz left onstage]
“Judges, we’re running out of time, so make it fast!”
Pandy: Yo!
Miami Mom: um, …
Uncle Combover: I just want to say…

“Thank you judges!
We have time for one more act before the break, so join me in welcoming back Mr. Rabbit, this time backing up Mr. Monkey!”
[ Mr. Rabbit dons the Geta and reaches the doorbell, whereupon the door is flung open by Mr. Monkey. In the background we hear Hey Hey We’re the Monkees, by (doh) the Monkees:
Here we come, walkin’ down the street
We get the funniest looks from everyone we meet.
Hey, hey, we’re the Monkees
And people say we monkey around
But we’re too busy singin’
To put anybody down…

Since Mr. Monkey isn’t using it, the MC picks up the remote control he left onstage.]
Pandy: Huh?
Miami Mom smiles and waves at people in the crowd.
Uncle Combover: What was that?
“The judges can talk amongst themselves while we take a quick break!”

[commercial break]
30/7/10 23:21

“OK, we’re back for the final acts!
Let’s welcome Green Kitteh!”
[the camera shows a close up of Green Kitteh coveting something. The remote control previously abandoned by the Monkey switches on the AC, and Green Kitteh moves in front of it, while music from The Big Chill plays in the background: Jeremiah was a Bullfrog! No wait, that’s for another show! Scratch that music. Instead, cue Blackbird by George Harrison:
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise…

The Green Kitteh left a toy bird doll, which conveniently goes into a cage that has appeared stage left causing an energetic black crow to fly in through an open window.
The crow then pops the balloons outside the Monkey’s house and a Hand that Laughs falls to the ground. The crowd laughs, “HaHaHa!” because it is a toy that laughs because it tickles]

“Whew! That was quite an act! What do you think @judges?”
Pandy: Dawg! It started out a little pitchy, but you came on strong in the end. Good job!
Miami Mom: Oh, you all look so pretty tonight! [sighs]
Uncle Combover: I think that this act has put you in the running! You are now the act to beat!

“Ok, let’s head back over to the boat for our penultimate act. It’s the Lion!”
[the camera closes on a ferocious lion as we hear The Lion Sleeps Tonight, aka, the WeeMiWah song:

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight…

The crowd gasps, “Oooh!” But then the Hand That Laughs makes the lion collapse with the giggles and the crowd joins in, “HeeHeeHeeHeeHee!”

the MC picks up a leaf that someone has left onstage, and walks over to the AC and holds the melting candy, which is getting messy, in front of it. It hardens into a brilliant jewel, no longer messy]

“OK, judges! How do you rate the Lion?”
Pandy: Yo! Dude! I couldn’t stop laughing!
Miami Mom is temporarily unavailable as she has fallen under the table laughing.
Uncle Combover: Laughable. Absolutely laughable.

“OK! For our last act, get ready for Koala and Aladdin and the Snakes!”

[the camera zooms on the Koala, who takes the leaf dropped by the Lion and scrambles up the tree, where he shakes loose three more Brilliant Gems. In the background we here a modified version of Marilyn Monroe singing Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friends:

A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
but diamonds are a snake's best friends
A kiss may be grand but it won't pay the rental
On any of those grand snake dens

While the music plays, each snake eats a Brilliant Gem of the same color as the snake’s skin. They all collapse and a Magic Lantern appears. A quick blow from the hammer causes an angry-looking Genie to materialize, but the Hand That Laughs changes his demeanor instantaneously. It appeared from the lamp of magic. The food was produced with magic. Aladdin ate the food. It was tasty taste.

The crowd has already mobbed the stage and hoisted both Aladdin and the Genie onto their shoulders, declaring them the newest Minoto Idols!

Cue credits:
Magic Lamp end.
Only one method.
And fade to black.
