Anatomy of a Room Escape Walkthrough
What is an escape game walkthrough?
It's a special genre of comments in which you are trying to help other gamers to escape by telling them what to do on every step. The first of these kinds was published on Escape Games 24 in the game Blue Chamber made by @Escaper on 26/04/06. Other notable walkthroughs are written by @kitkatfox, @Suicune, @prid and @Ellie and of course many ohters I did forget to mention.
How is a walkthrough made?
It all starts with playing the game and making notes where you found things and where you used them. You also may need some knowledge of English.
- Write your walkthrough in notepad or some ohter text program. It's easier to see your whole text there and you can place it later in the comment box.
- Try to describe the places/hotspots where to find items or to do things in such a way other people can understand.
- Don't forget to write down when (and sometimes how) to go to a different view.
- Try to highlight important items by using CAPS or Bold and for side notes you could use Italic.
- When finished; play again and follow your own walkthrough to see if it's correct.
- Copy all the text and put it in the comment box but don't post it yet. First do a preview to see if everything is the way you want and then post it.
PS.
- Bold is starting with this <> with b in between and after the part of text you want bold you have to close with this <> with /b in between. Italic is the same but with an i. CAPS you have to do with your keyboard (use shift or capslock). But don't use all those things too much.
- If you didn't finish on your own, don't forget to mention the names of the people who helped.
